Mangrove restoration at Junda creek

Through our partnership with Kenya Forest Services (KFS) and the state department for tourism we have been able to bring together the community around junda creek in mombasa, and sensitize them the importance of mangrove restoration to our environment. We carried out a three day activity on different days and restored 15,000 mangroves in degraded areas.

Our Beliefs

We believe in a world where the Rights of Children, Youth and Women are upheld, opportunities to raise their voices and chances to sit on decision making tables are provided. SCD has the child as the center of its programming. The Youth and the Women are developed to ensure the child has a meaningful life. We believe in a world where child rights and child protection is at the best interests for holistic growth of children transitioning into great future leaders.

Our mission is to to create a community that girls and young women are self -reliant, resilient, socially and economically empowered, promotes and protects the rights and well-being of children and a youth who possess 21st century skills enabling them to create opportunities and diverse ways of accelerating attainment of the sustainable development goals.

Girls and Young women still face many challenges related to gender and often have to reconcile their own dreams with expectations of what they “should be.This is a generation of girls and young women “who were told we could do anything and instead heard that we had to be everything.
